Cambridgeshire County Council select The Telemarketing Company to provide high quality validation and data cleansing.
Cambridgeshire County Council was first formed in 1889 as a result of the Local Government Act 1888, as one of two county councils covering Cambridgeshire; the other was the Isle of Ely County Council. In 1965 the two councils were merged to form Cambridgeshire and Isle of Ely County Council. This arrangement lasted until 1974 when, following the Local Government Act 1972, Cambridgeshire and Isle of Ely was merged with Huntingdon and Peterborough to form a new non-metropolitan county of Cambridgeshire under the control of a newly constituted Cambridgeshire County Council.
Project background
Cambridgeshire County Council main objective was to up-date and validate a database of ‘hi-tech sector companies’ in and around the Cambridgeshire area. The information being collected would feed into a report that is written by Cambridgeshire County Council every two years on the trends within the hi-tech industry sector.
The Telemarketing Company were selected to provide a campaign to support these objectives by providing a high quality validation and data cleanse exercise. The Telemarketing Company worked carefully with Cambridgeshire County to plan and execute a campaign that not only verified and up-dated the details of each individual company, but to also establish companies that had moved from their originally listed locations and to engage with the businesses who had replaced them.
Prior to the launch of the campaign a detailed plan was agreed and documented to include the following key areas: scripting, questionnaire design, data quotas and requirements and format of all data returns.
Project execution and results
The campaign was executed using the Telemarketing Company’s Research Team. This dedicated team comprises of full time, trained and salaried specialist callers and managers trained using the Market Research Society’s Accredited Interviewer Training Scheme.
Datasets were segmented as required prior to calling, to allow data management and granular reporting and analysis. Scripts were designed from an initial brief and these scripts were regularly reviewed during the campaign in order to optimise results and data integrity.
For the campaign, an initial face to face briefing for the calling team was delivered by The Telemarketing Company. In addition, individual training and coaching was carried out during the calling programme to ensure all requirements of the client were met whilst maintaining a high level of professionalism.
"It was a pleasure to work with the Telemarketing Company. They were helpful, responsive and highly professional throughout the project, making sure everything was well planned and tested to optimise data quality. Our contact kept us up to date with progress and everything was delivered on time. Overall, we found them very competitively priced, yet they exceeded our expectations throughout. We would have no hesitation in recommending them to others and would certainly consider using them again in the future."
