VUE Entertainment Case Study



Highly trained lead generation calling team brings success for market leader VUE Entertainment in their ongoing campaign.

VUE Entertainment is a world class operator and developer of modern state-of-the-art multiplex cinemas. VUE Entertainment operates over 1,100 screens across 119 state-of-the-art multiplex cinemas in the UK, Ireland, Taiwan, Germany, Denmark, and Portugal. The VUE circuit has a market leading 98% of its screens in full stadium format that give uninterrupted views of the large floor to ceiling, wall to wall screens. VUE recently completed its rollout of the new Sony 4K digital projectors providing the very best picture quality available. The circuit also has the latest Real D 3D enabled screens and a growing number of new extra-large format super sized sound and vision auditoriums called VUEXtreme.

Project Background

Aside from showing films VUE Entertainment uses the venues for Conferencing and Events bookings. These can be anything from a single venue meeting to a multi-venue satellite conference covering the UK, Europe or Worldwide.

The events range from product launches, road shows (where the same message is delivered across the country) or smaller meetings. During a conference, the venue remains closed to the public ensuring the delegates get 100% of the attention and the event remains private. 

VUE has partnered with AP Events for the Audio/Visual delivery, meaning that every event is supported by a fully trained technician (something that no other cinema chain provides). AP Events also provide the AV packages tailored for the VUE Venues to maximise the presentation impact of the Sony 4K digital projectors and wall to wall screens.

VUE partners with local companies for the catering supply, enabling fresh sandwiches, cakes or other treats for the delegates during the lunch and break-outs.

VUE is the only cinema chain to offer Day Delegate Rates across the country and has a higher level of service than the competitors

As the offering is so bespoke, rather than a bland conference offering, VUE approached The Telemarketing Company with the aim of raising awareness of VUE Entertainments Conferencing offers, benefits and venues.

Project execution and results

An initial database was purchased to support the calling, this contained data from all over the UK and different verticals.

VUE and AP Events briefed the project team by Conference Call and ensured that the team was versed not just in the features and benefits to make successful calls, but additionally with a list of venues and a tool which enabled them to tell each prospect where their nearest VUE cinema is located and how far that is from their own site.   

Early progress was good and feedback on the calls enabled the project team to grow in confidence and to make more leads. When the initial data became tired, The Telemarketing Company looked at the propensity to convert, by vertical and location, purchasing more data to support these criteria.  Feedback on the leads has also been very positive with some conversions to sales on the horizon.  The campaign is ongoing.
