As a real Living Wage employer, we are pleased to confirm that our base rate of pay from April 1st will be £10.90 per hour, in line with the latest real Living Wage increase.

Unlike the Government-set minimum wage, the real Living Wage is the only wage rate calculated independently based on rising living costs. It provides a benchmark for employers who want to ensure their staff are paid a wage that meets their everyday needs.

With inflation hitting new heights, the latest increase is the highest ever single rise and we are proud to be one of 874 employers in Brighton and Hove making this voluntary commitment. In our 33-year history, there have periods of economic uncertainty and disruption but none more so than in recent years. With unprecedented levels of inflation leaving families struggling, a commitment to the real Living Wage is a priority for us.

Katherine Chapman, Living Wage Foundation Director, explains,

“With living costs rising so rapidly, millions are facing an awful “heat or eat” choice this winter- that’s why a real Living Wage is more vital than ever. Today’s new rates will provide hundreds of thousands of workers and their families with greater security and stability during these incredibly difficult times.”
